Datapath Solutions - Video Out
Datapath's video output cards are the foundation for constructing a video wall, and there are two different series of output cards a user can choose from when constructing a video wall. Depending upon the requirements of the video wall and availability of PCI or PCI express slots, a user can select from either the Vantage4 or the Image4 series.
Vantage 4:
The Vantage 4 series is a 32-bit 66mhz full length PCI card, the series contains has three different models which differentiate themselves based upon video input requirements. Below is a description of the three different Vantage 4 models.
Vantage 4 (VGA or DVI):
 |
- Four Port PCI graphics adapter
- Four Delta Chrome GPU's each with 32Mb DDR 250Mhz frame buffers (Total 128Mb)
- Four Analog VGA outputs upto 2048 x 1536
- Four DVI outputs up to 1600 x 1200
- Support for 1400 x 1050 resolution
- Four TV outputs. PAL/NTSC/S-video, HDTV. With high quality flicker filters
- Support for up to sixteen cards providing outputs for up to sixty-four display
|
Vantage 4-PRO (VGA or DVI)
|
The Vantage4-PRO has all the same features as the Vantage4 and in addition:
- Four high quality video overlays, each at 720 x 560 (One overlay per channel)
- Four PAL/NTSC/SECAM or S-video decoders
- Four high quality de-interlaced video overlays with tripple buffering
- In built 16 x 8 video matrix switch supporting sixteen composite or eight S-video input
|

|
Vantage 4-SIP (VGA or DVI)
|

|
The Vantage4-SIP has all the same features as the Vantage4 and in addition:
- Four SIP video processors each with 64Mb overlay memory (total 256Mb)
- High speed 5Gb/s SIP digital video input port for the Mosaic-SQ16 and Mosaic-HQ8, supporting up to one hundred and twenty-eight video channels
- Sixteen video overlay windows per display channel (sixty-four windows total)
- Four 1280 x 1024 high resolution video overlays

Image 4
The Image 4 series is the newest line of output cards from Datapath. The Image 4 like the Vantage 4 is a 4-port output card which can also output VGA or DVI, however unlike the Vantage 4 card Image 4 is built upon PCI Express architecture. The PCI express architecture offers the user two distinct advantages over 32-bit PCI, first it is a faster bus structure offering the user a 480MB/sec bandwidth to transfer video between multiple input and output cards. The second advantage to PCI express is that the technology utilizes the 12v rail on motherboards reducing the amount of power required to drive multiple graphics cards.
|
Technical Specs on Image 4
- Analog RGB or DVI outputs up to 4 x 1920 x 1080 x 24bits/pixel
- Low Power requirement
- High performance 2D and 3D graphics
- Support for Direct X9
- Up to 10 cards per system for a maximum of up to 40 displays
|

|
Because of the increased bandwidth with the PCI express architecture the system no longer requires a private bus to transfer video between multiple graphics cards, therefore there is only one model in the Image4 series.
